The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Padjadjaran, has committed to deliver high-quality education for both Indonesian and international students in the diverse field of social and political studies. Bachelor’s Programs

About

The Business Administration Program produces graduates to become entrepreneurs who have the ability to: 1) formulate ideas and business plans for the businesses they own; 2) carry out business functions as the realization of business ideas, and 3) create creative and innovative businesses by adopting technology. In addition to being an entrepreneur, the graduates from the program can also become an intrapreneur who has the ability to: 1) manage the organization (in the scope of marketing, finance, operations, and HR) effectively, efficiently, and innovatively; 2) design business systems and policies in existing organizations; 3) direct and lead the organization.

Graduates from the anthropology study program are expected to become: 1) Ethnographers who are able to conduct ethnographic studies. 2) Development planners and implementers and Community Empowerers who are capable of planning, implementing, and or evaluating development programs from the government or the private sector using a cultural approach. 3) Intangible cultural heritage expert who is able to take inventory and document various forms of intangible cultural heritage. 4) Socio-Cultural Researcher, capable of conducting socio-cultural studies, analysis, and recommendations related to social, development, and environmental issues. 5) Curator of museums and galleries/museum ethnographers who are able to carry out maintenance, preservation, and research activities on museum collections.

The government studies program produce graduates who are able to analyze the administration of government and the management of the government bureaucracy at the local-village level that is oriented to (improvement of quality) services, development, and community empowerment; able to design proposals, implement, analyze, interpret research data in the perspective of government science and write reports according to scientific principles and produce useful findings to solve various government problems and publish research results; able to absorb aspirations, conduct situation analysis and policy advocacy to help communities affected by government policies at all levels of government; able to provide facilitation and assistance to the community in designing community development programs based on the results of mapping community problems and potentials that are integrated with government policies (development policies), implementing, supervising, and evaluating program implementation as well as facilitating the development of social networks and partnerships with organizations government and non-government in the implementation of community development programs; able to provide assistance to the government or public officials at all levels of government to resolve problems that occur in the relationship between the government and the governed through the establishment of appropriate policies.

The vocational training of Public Finance Administration aims to produce graduates that are able to plan finances to meet short, medium, and long-term financial goals with the risk management capabilities of an institution or company and also able to carry out internal and external controls that play a role in preventing fraud with the ability to examine financial documents and apply audit procedures (audit systems, audit techniques, and tools).

The master’s program in Political Science has two main concentrations, which are Political Science and International Relations. The graduates of the Master’s program on Social Welfare is expected to master diverse skills in social welfare areas, including understanding Social Work Theories, Welfare Theory, Development Theory, Social Theory and History and Development of Social Welfare and Social Work; understanding the dialectic of Social Work Principles and Social Work values ​​and ethics social justice, human rights, collective responsibility and respect for human diversity and the environment; mastering knowledge of the dynamics of human behavior and the social environment; analyzing social problems and their consequences for social policies and programs; analyzing  various forms of social welfare policies and their implementation in Indonesia; etc.

The master’s program in Public Policy is designed to train graduates who can become public policy analysts, public policy consultants, as well as research managers in the field of public policy.

The main competencies of graduates are:

    1. Compiling information, conducting policy analysis, and recommendations in the form of policy choices for policymakers in accordance with applicable laws and regulations;
    2. Conducting policy studies and analysis using various approach methods (research of policy and research for policy);
    3. Formulating strategic plans and policy advocacy;

The doctoral program of Administrative Sciences has three concentrations consisting of Public Administration, Government Administration, and Business Administration. 

The program is designed to train the graduates on the following main competencies:

    1. Able to master philosophy that underlies the theory of public administration, business administration, and government, as well as specific theories according to the topic of research studies.
    2. Able to master a substantial, current, and leading body of knowledge in the field of administration.
    3. Able to evaluate the relevance of administrative theory (business, public, and government) in an interdisciplinary, multidisciplinary, and/or transdisciplinary manner to the governance of an organization (business, public, and government) and business, public, and government practices which is running.
    4. Able to master the latest issues in the field of information technology-based administration to downstream research results.
    5. Able to evaluate the impact of existing and emerging administrative (business, public, and government) theories from an interdisciplinary, multidisciplinary, and/or transdisciplinary perspective on culture, ethics, and relevant global issues.
    6. Able to design, plan, and carry out research in the areas of governance system as well as business, public, and government culture to explain, predict, and improve business, public, and government performance.
    7. Able to design, plan, and carry out research in the areas of governance systems and business, public, and government governance that aims to provide a positive social change in a business, public, and government organization in accordance with the dynamics of the environment.

    The doctoral program on Social Welfare is designed to produce graduates with the following competencies.

    1. Able to produce the development of social welfare theories and other relevant social theories through empirical studies
    2. Able to formulate solutions to social welfare problems at the micro, mezzo, and macro levels using interdisciplinary, multi-disciplinary, or trans-disciplinary approaches and methods
    3. Able to manage, lead and develop research in order to produce innovative and tested models, methods, and/or techniques to deal with social welfare problems that are unique to Indonesia
    4. Able to compile independent scientific papers in the form of innovative works for publication in accredited scientific journals at the national level and reputable international journals.

The doctoral program in Sociology consists of two concentrations, which are Sociology and Anthropology. The main competencies that are expected from the graduates include the following:

    1. Have knowledge and philosophical understanding of the concepts and theories of sociology or anthropology as well as an adequate research methodology.
    2. Able to analyze sharply and provide solutions to various social, development, and environmental problems at local, national, and global levels.
    3. Able to develop, teach, and disseminate Sociology or Anthropology.
