A team from Universitas Padjadjaran—Abdillah Abdillah, Ida Widianingsih, Rd Ahmad Buchari, and Heru Nurasa studied how Indonesia can strengthen social resilience by addressing the challenges faced by people with disabilities. This study has been published in Discover Social Science and Health (Publisher: Springer Nature) and is indexed in Q3. Using national survey data (Susenas 2018), ILO, and SMERU reports, the research highlights urgent gaps in accessibility, such as public facilities and urban infrastructure.

The study emphasizes the need for disability-inclusive planning and policies, not only to build resilience but also to advance SDG 5: Gender Equality, since women with disabilities often face double barriers in accessing opportunities. This research provides insights to create more equitable, inclusive, and resilient development in Indonesia.
