From Campus to Governance: FISIP’s Role in Building Just and Strong Institutions

As a manifestation of its active commitment to implementing Sustainable Development Goal 16 (SDG 16) to build strong and just institutions, the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at Universitas Padjadjaran participates in strengthening public policy through various research initiatives. This participation includes direct collaborations with public institutions, such as the signing of a Cooperation Agreement with BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, to ensure that social security policy formulation is based on robust data and scientific evidence.

Furthermore, this involvement is also realized through critical research relevant to the government, such as the study conducted by Dr. Caroline Paskarina on the dynamics of post-pandemic internet freedom, which provides recommendations for the government to balance digital democracy with protecting the public from risks like hoaxes and polarization. Through both of these research approaches—collaborative and critical—FISIP Unpad consistently contributes scientific insights to foster a more responsive, transparent, and accountable decision-making process, which is a fundamental pillar in creating the resilient institutions mandated by SDG 16.
