Simple Design, Big Impact: FISIP Unpad’s Journey Toward an Energy-Smart Campus

Within the faculty buildings, concrete steps are being taken to reach higher energy efficiency. One of the main efforts is reducing electricity use during the day. Instead of turning on lamps, classrooms are designed to take advantage of natural sunlight through large windows, which keep the rooms bright without relying on artificial lighting.

The same approach applies to air circulation. By maximizing natural ventilation, many spaces no longer depend on air conditioning during the day. This not only lowers energy consumption but also creates a healthier and more comfortable learning atmosphere.

These improvements show that energy efficiency does not always require complex technology, it can begin with simple design choices and daily habits. Step by step, FISIP is moving toward a campus that is both sustainable and energy-smart.
