Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) Universitas Padjadjaran Researchers Advocate Inclusive Resilience for People with Disabilities During COVID-19

Led by Abdillah Abdillah, research from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) Universitas Padjadjaran explores lessons in resilience from the experiences of people with disabilities during the COVID-19 pandemic. The study has been published in the Journal of Public Health (a Q1-ranked journal).

The research challenges the common view of people with disabilities as merely vulnerable, instead highlighting their agency and key coping strategies like strengthening social capital and self-advocacy. The authors call for a policy shift, recommending that future crisis responses be co-designed with the disability community to ensure a more effective and equitable society.
