As part of its commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s), particularly Goal 3: Good Health and Well-Being, the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at Universitas Padjadjaran continues to provide access to mental health literacy and information for students. These efforts align with students’ needs to maintain psychological balance while facing academic challenges and social dynamics on campus.
One example of this literacy initiative comes from FISIP lecturer Dr. Budi Muhammad Taftazani, who emphasizes the importance of maintaining mental health as a foundation for students to navigate the learning process. According to him, students need to develop a healthy mindset to respond positively to academic and social pressures. This message serves as a key principle in fostering a campus culture that supports mental health awareness, especially during the transition into university life.
Moreover, Sociology students at FISIP Unpad integrate mental health issues into their learning through Project-Based Learning, which has led to social initiatives such as the webinar “Your Mental Health Matters.” This activity not only opens a cross-perspective discussion, including academics, practitioners, and content creators, but also provides strategies to maintain mental health amidst academic and daily life demands.
These collective efforts demonstrate that FISIP Unpad goes beyond academic achievements by actively providing access to mental health information and literacy for its students. In doing so, SDG’s 3 is implemented tangibly within the campus environment, ensuring students develop mental resilience and contributing to a healthy, sustainable academic climate.
