The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences at Universitas Padjadjaran demonstrates its commitment to sustainability by integrating community service programs with sustainable tourism development. One initiative, led by Prof. Dr. Drs. H. Entang Adhy Muhtar, M.S., focused on the Community Empowerment Strategy for Agrotourism Development in Baros Village, Arjasari Subdistrict. Conducted from May to July 2024, the program empowered local residents in sustainable land management and business diversification while engaging students through course-based learning that linked theory with practice.
Another effort, led by Dr. Slamet Usman Ismanto, M.Si., was the Peduli Desa Program in Warnasari Tourism Village, Pangalengan Subdistrict. Held from July to August 2023, the initiative developed a Master Plan for Tourism Development (RIPPDes 2023–2028), emphasizing land conservation, nature-based attractions, and active community participation. Together, these initiatives highlight FISIP Unpad’s active role in advancing SDG 15: Life on Land. By combining community empowerment, strategic planning, and academic collaboration, the faculty contributes to preserving ecosystems while creating long-term social and economic benefits for local communities.
