This research investigates the influence of the Solidarity Entrepreneurial Ecosystem (SEE) on the development of Modern Cooperatives (MC) through Digital Transformation (DT) in Purwakarta Regency, West Java, Indonesia. By applying an explanatory survey method and quantitative analysis, the study examined 69 certified cooperatives using Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) to test validity, reliability, and causal relationships.
The findings demonstrate that SEE has a significant impact on strengthening MCs through DT. Managers, government, and academics were identified as key actors in supporting successful implementation, particularly in areas of policy, innovation, and technology. Collaboration among these stakeholders is essential in creating an enabling ecosystem that fosters cooperative resilience and competitiveness.
Beyond its practical implications, this study also contributes to academic literature by providing a theoretical framework that links SEE, DT, and MC. The framework can serve as a reference for future research and as a guide for policymakers and practitioners seeking to build stronger cooperative ecosystems in the digital era.
In conclusion, this study confirms that digital transformation is most effective when supported by a strong solidarity-based entrepreneurial ecosystem. By uniting stakeholders and reinforcing collaboration, cooperatives can accelerate innovation, improve sustainability, and enhance their role in driving inclusive economic growth in the digital era.
