This systematic literature review investigates trends in scholarly publications on green leadership and evaluates the extent to which the concept has been developed worldwide. Green leadership emphasizes environmentally conscious decision-making and the ability of leaders to persuade organizations to adopt eco-friendly practices.

The review synthesizes global debates and scholarship concerning the relevance of green leadership for embedding sustainability principles into organizational strategies. Findings highlight the urgency of applying green leadership in the implementation of pro-environmental policies and showcase its potential impact in driving ecological sustainability.

The authors call for future research to explore more effective and applicable strategic frameworks that can universalize green leadership implementation. This work contributes to raising organizational awareness and shaping leadership approaches toward promoting ecologically sustainable development. It directly relates to SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth).
