Unpad Strengthens Equal Access to Higher Education Through KIP-College Scholarship

Universitas Padjadjaran reaffirms its strong commitment to advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 10: Reduced Inequalities, by ensuring inclusive and equitable access to higher education. One of the key initiatives in this effort is the implementation of the KIP-College Scholarship (Kartu Indonesia Pintar Kuliah), which is institutionalized through a Rector’s Decree as part of the university’s regulatory framework.

This program is specifically designed to ensure that students from low-income households, socio-economically vulnerable groups, and recipients of social assistance are granted equal opportunities to pursue higher education. Its implementation follows a rigorously structured mechanism encompassing registration procedures, systematic data collection, verification processes, and multi-stage selection. These measures guarantee that the program operates with transparency, accountability, and fairness. The support provided through the KIP-College Scholarship includes tuition fee waivers and living allowances, thereby removing financial barriers and enabling students to fully concentrate on their academic pursuits.

Beyond its regulatory foundation, the program is reinforced by empirical evidence. Annual data on scholarship recipients serve as measurable indicators within the university’s performance matrix, demonstrating Universitas Padjadjaran’s consistent efforts to monitor, evaluate, and expand access for students from underrepresented groups. Consequently, this initiative goes beyond symbolic commitment and stands as tangible proof of the university’s proactive role in addressing socio-economic disparities in higher education, while simultaneously strengthening its substantive contribution to the realization of SDG 10.
