FISIP Unpad and Adkesma BEM: Advancing Disability Inclusion, Mental Health, and Sexual Violence Prevention

The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences at Universitas Padjadjaran (FISIP Unpad) continues to demonstrate its commitment to promoting inclusivity and equality, in line with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 10: Reduced Inequalities. This commitment is realized through various policies and programs focused on preventing and addressing discrimination and sexual violence within the campus environment.

One concrete step is the establishment of the FISIP Unpad Counseling Team in collaboration with the Student Welfare Advocacy Department (Adkesma) of BEM FISIP Unpad to address issues related to sexual violence. Adkesma BEM FISIP has initiated the “Sahabat FISIP” program, a reporting platform for students to raise concerns regarding sexual violence or mental health issues. In addition to reporting, Adkesma also initiated the SANDAR (Saatnya Adkesma Mendengar) program, which provides a safe space for students to share personal stories and mental health issues, with different themes each month.

As part of its educational efforts, Adkesma BEM FISIP has also published pocket books on disability awareness, sexual violence prevention, and mental health. All information regarding reporting mechanisms and complaint procedures can be accessed through the official Instagram account @fisipcarecenter.

In 2025, Adkesma BEM FISIP focuses on three main issues:

  • Disability: Supporting FISIP Unpad to become an inclusive campus for students with disabilities.
  • Sexual Violence: Strengthening prevention efforts, response mechanisms, and awareness to ensure FISIP is a safe space for the entire academic community.
  • Mental Health: Providing support and fostering a healthy, inclusive, and responsive campus environment for mental health issues.

To strengthen student awareness, Adkesma BEM FISIP actively publishes educational content about disability and sexual violence issues through the Instagram account @fisipcarecenter, as part of a campaign to increase understanding and empathy among students.
