FISIP UNPAD’s Contribution to SDG 1: No Poverty

The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Padjadjaran (FISIP UNPAD) actively contributes to SDG 1: No Poverty by organizing programs and workshops that aim to reduce poverty and strengthen social protection systems between 2022 and 2025.

In 2022, FISIP UNPAD held a workshop titled “The Developmental Role of the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank: Indonesia – pre-pandemic and post.” This activity facilitated academic dialogue on how international financial institutions influence Indonesia’s poverty alleviation strategies, particularly during the pandemic recovery period.

In the same year, the Workshop on Sharia Insurance provided insights into alternative financial protection mechanisms that are inclusive and community-based. By promoting Islamic finance as a tool for risk management, the program showcased how financial inclusion can strengthen the economic resilience of vulnerable groups.

Continuing in 2023, the Workshop on Sustainable Social Welfare Development highlighted the importance of long-term policies and programs to ensure equitable distribution of resources, social justice, and protection of marginalized communities.

These initiatives across 2022–2023 reaffirm FISIP UNPAD’s role as a knowledge hub committed to addressing poverty, promoting inclusive financial systems, and contributing to sustainable social welfare policies in Indonesia. Although the main focus of activities was concentrated in the early years (2022–2023), their impact resonates throughout the 2022–2025 period as part of FISIP’s continuous dedication to SDG 1.
