In 2025, the Research Journal in Advanced Humanities published an insightful article analyzing the Indonesia-Australia Defence Cooperation Agreement (DCA) within the wider geopolitical context of the Indo-Pacific region. Through a qualitative approach and political theory frameworks, this study examines how the DCA, signed in 2024, impacts bilateral relations, ASEAN centrality, and regional stability.

The research highlights defense collaboration enhancements such as improved interoperability, joint military exercises, and maritime security cooperation. It underscores Indonesia’s growing defense capabilities and leadership within ASEAN while addressing the challenges posed by balancing non-alignment policies amid the influence of global powers like China.

This work is strategically significant as it provides a framework for addressing security challenges in the Indo-Pacific and signals potential future defense collaborations. DOI: 10.58256/m019k676
