The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences at Padjadjaran University recognizes that the values and ideals of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) align with our own. Therefore, the various aspects of the SDGs are woven into the very fabric of our campus life. From facilities to regulations, we strive to create a space that not only upholds academic excellence but also embodies our commitment to sustainability, equality, and well-being.

Education is one of the most powerful tools we can use to combat poverty. To ensure access to all of Padjadjaran University’s buildings, a proper mobility tool is needed. The Odong-odong is our convenient and free-to-use campus transportation facility that covers the grounds of Padjadjaran University. Aligning with SDG 1: No Poverty, this facility reflects our commitment to providing an accessible means of mobility for our community.

The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences at Padjadjaran University also acknowledges the importance of nutrition in supporting academic performance and well-being. Our faculty cafeteria, located at the center of our campus, offers a variety of healthy and flavorful options, sustainably sourced from local MSEs. The presence of our cafeteria demonstrates our commitment to SDG 2: Zero Hunger. By providing affordable, nutritious food, we ensure that our community can access the sustenance they need to thrive, furthering our mission to support both health and sustainability.

In terms of maintaining our well-being, the physical environment and activities are just as important as consuming a nutritious meal. Upholding the values of SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, we offer our community a top-notch sports court and designated non-smoking areas around our campus. Our sports court is a space where our community can engage in various physical activities, such as basketball, football, badminton, and more. This court is also often used for public gatherings or large-scale physical activities. In addition to our sports court, we are committed to maintaining a healthy campus environment by enforcing a non-smoking regulation across all indoor campus grounds. By preserving clean air circulation in our buildings, we are proactively protecting the well-being of our community.

Access to clean and safe drinking water is also crucial for the health and well-being of our community. The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences at Padjadjaran University is proud to offer an independent drinking water supply facility that ensures our community has access to filtered, safe, and sustainable drinking water. Reflecting SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation, we are not only supporting the health of our community but also promoting sustainable practices by reducing the need for single-use plastic bottles.

The well-being of our community also extends to feelings of acceptance and equality on campus. As part of our dedication to SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities, we have implemented accessibility features across our campus, including wheelchair ramps and other inclusive infrastructure. These improvements are part of our ongoing effort to meet the needs of our diverse community and create a more inclusive environment where everyone is welcomed and accepted.

The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences at Padjadjaran University integrates sustainability into the heart of our campus layout, which is reflected in our digital huts and pedestrian sidewalks. Our Saungs, also known as digital huts, are outdoor gathering facilities modeled after traditional Sundanese huts. These huts are situated among our trees and green fields, providing fresh air and a serene environment suitable for various activities such as gatherings, classes, and communal events. In addition to our green gathering space, our campus features covered pedestrian sidewalks that ensure comfortable and safe walking paths throughout the year. By encouraging walking and reducing reliance on vehicles, these features reflect our commitment to fulfilling SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities.

To maintain sustainability, our faculty is also committed to combating climate change through meaningful measures. Our dedication to SDG 13: Climate Action is reflected in the presence of BEAM on our campus—electric bikes available for rent at an affordable rate. These bikes provide a green alternative to traditional transportation methods, helping to reduce our carbon footprint and promote sustainable travel. They are perfect for short trips around campus or to nearby areas, offering a convenient and eco-friendly way to get around.
These facilities and regulations are designed to encourage our community and partners to join us in our ongoing effort to create a more sustainable, equal, and well-rounded environment at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences at Padjadjaran University.
